The Greenwich Garden Club was founded in 1914 and is a member of the Garden Club of America, a national leader in the fields of horticulture, conservation, and civic improvement. Our purpose is to increase knowledge of horticulture, encourage and develop the art of floral design and photography, work to protect, restore and improve our natural resources, native plants, and wildlife; and engage with our broader community in civic-minded projects.

About Us

The Greenwich Garden Club was founded in 1914 and is a member of the Garden Club of America. From the beginning, our members have focused on beautifying and caring for our community and the environment. Through lectures, workshops, and other activities, members learn and are inspired by the topics of gardening, horticulture, floral design, landscape design, and conservation. Read More

Civic Involvement

The Club has always felt a deep responsibility to our town to make it a more pleasing place to work and live. Whether the project is beautifying an area or spending time with pre-schoolers, we work with many organizations whose efforts are in line with our purpose and values. Read More.

Conservation

Conservation and the preservation of open space have been at the heart of the Club since our founding in 1914. The Club’s Greenwich Grown initiative organizes events that engage the community in the management of invasive species, the collection of native plant seeds, and the preservation of native pollinators.

Floral Design

Floral design has been an important focus and experience for many of our Club members. The Club’s Flower Arranging committee organizes workshops throughout the year to learn about plant material and the elements of design. Often, these workshops are led by our talented award-winning members who are always willing to share their knowledge.

Horticulture

The Club has been fortunate to have many passionate Horticulturists as members who are willing to share their experience and knowledge. The Horticulture Committee continues to encourage a love of gardening by organizing projects, sweepstakes and entering flower shows.

Photography

Whether using an iPhone or a DSLR, a camera lens enables us to see the natural world from a different perspective. The Photography committee organizes sweepstakes and encourages participation in flower shows to develop the inner artist in each of us.
