Planting for Pollinators

We all can make a difference this planting season and help our pollinating and migrating friends by planting native species in containers and/or gardens. Local nurseries still have Agastache, Nepata, Sedum, Sneezeweed, Russian sage, Joe Pye Weed but you can find other native pollinating varieties such as the following:

Aster x frikartii, Butterfly Weed (Asclepias tuberosa), Fennel, Lantana, Bee Balm (Monarda), Borage (Borago officinalis), Oregano, Sunflower, Sweet alyssum, Alstroemeria, Lion’s Tail (Leonotis leonurus), Penstemon, Red Hot Poker (Kniphofia), Salvia, Lavender, Gloriosa Daisy, Pincushion flower, Blanket flower, Coneflower, Yarrow
